A lovely, golden sand beach, flanked by cliffs at each end, and backed by the village of Salema which mainly consists of villas, hotels, apartements and restaurants and snack bars. Another ideal family beach with safe swimming and one that is still used by local fishermen as a landing spot for their night's catch.
Not as large as Praia da Luz and more cramped than Burgau, parking can be really tight here in high season and the beach can get a little crowded, but off-season it's a delight - especially because of the proximity and simple-but-delicious quality of the local restaurants / refreshment spots. Your reporter likes to take a beer here after a quick swim in the evening and catch up with his e-mail at the 'Horizonte' shop which has an internet terminal.
