Dining out in Western Algarve: On this page we list the various cafes and restaurants currently operating in the region from Lagos to Sagres. As the area we cover continues to expand new restaurants are opening all the time so it's not a definitive list, but we have tried to visit as many as we can (we work so hard for you!) and make fair comments about them. A whole range of national and international cuisine is available, including curry houses if you absolutely must, but this is the Algarve so frankly you're better off trying the local dishes - especially the seafood!

Restaurante Florestal - In terms of location this is an absolute treat, set as it is in a protected area of National Forest offering a cool and tranquil atmosphere. Sometimes the staff can appear to be a bit earnest, as if one should be worshipful of the creations on the plate, but the food is wonderful. Very popular so best to book | tel: (282) 68 72 04

Praia da LuzCachoa Restaurante - An old converted farmhouse with a nice dining terrace. It's located down a fairly obscure dirt track between Luz and Lagos so can be hard to find but worth the effort for beautifully cooked and presented food. Sítio Cachoa | tel: (282) 78 28 22
